Welcome to the official UniverCities Connection blog! This summer, a team of six UniverCities student interns will help to renew metro Detroit’s inner-ring suburbs with cutting-edge energy conservation strategies. We’ll be tracking their progress towards sustainable cities and exploring other exciting efforts to re-energize the region—especially those initiatives where young people are taking the lead.
In the coming weeks, we’ll take a closer look at these young change-makers, the work they’re doing and the history of the UniverCities Connection program. Get your first glimpse in this photo from Tuesday’s orientation in historic downtown Ypsilanti. Let the task of building a greener, greater metropolis begin!
